Microsoft 365 Setup, Migration & Administration for Businesses in Oman
Novatelia supports Microsoft 365 configuration, migration and administration within the customer’s own tenant. Agreed work may include Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune and eligible security services. Licensing and service scope are confirmed separately.
Microsoft 365 work at Novatelia is done in the tenant the organization owns. Scope can include Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Purview, and Power Platform. Copilot is in scope only when that tenant’s license includes it. Setup, migration, sign-in, and administration are written per tenant. A Microsoft partner title is not published.
The tenant is the boundary. Novatelia prepares the configuration and the move. Licenses are bought by the customer from a source they choose. This page does not set a subscription price, and it does not represent a Microsoft partnership status.
Explore How a Microsoft 365 Business Tenant Is Organized
Identity leads to authorized access, then to a licensed workload, then to the data, device, or service that workload holds, and then to the administrators who remain responsible. Products are drawn only where a license can include them.
01
Customer tenant
The tenant is the organization’s own Microsoft 365 boundary. Novatelia works in it under access the customer approves.
02
Users and sign-in
Users, groups, and the sign-in controls the licenses support are configured for the people the design names.
03
Mail, files and Teams
Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams are set up for the workloads the scope includes.
04
Administration handover
The customer’s administrators receive the records for the agreed work, and standing access is reviewed.
Conceptual Microsoft 365 tenant architecture — not a live Microsoft Admin Center or customer environment.
01
Customer-Owned Tenant
The tenant identity belongs to the customer. Authorized administrators are the people that organization approves. A Microsoft 365 subscription entitlement is not the same thing as the Entra tenant itself, and Novatelia does not become the tenant owner by configuring it.
02
Domain & DNS
Domain verification and mail routing depend on records in the authoritative DNS zone. The party who controls that zone publishes them. Novatelia can prepare the values and check the result. DNS is not changed from this page.
03
Microsoft Entra ID
Entra ID holds the users, groups, and the sign-in controls the licenses include. Entra roles, Microsoft 365 roles, and workload permissions are different assignments. Conditional Access exists only where the entitlement includes it.
04
Exchange Online
Exchange Online is the business mailbox, calendar, and mail-flow service for the accepted domains in scope. Mail routing is a DNS and transport decision. It is not the same act as owning the domain.
05
Teams
Teams is meetings, chat, and channel collaboration for the users who are licensed for it. Files behind a team are stored in SharePoint or OneDrive. Telephony and every meeting feature are not assumed in the base plan.
06
OneDrive & SharePoint
OneDrive is user-oriented file storage. SharePoint is the site and shared-content service. Permissions follow users, groups, and the sharing policy. A sync client is not an independent backup.
07
Intune
Intune manages the endpoints the design enrolls, where the licenses include it. Configuration, application deployment, and compliance evaluation apply to those enrolled devices. Enrollment does not switch on every security control.
08
Defender & Purview
Defender and Purview capabilities follow the specific products and editions the tenant has. Defender is not one entitlement that covers endpoint, email, and identity together. Purview retention is not an independent backup.
09
Power Platform & Copilot
Power Apps and Power Automate are in scope only when a process and a license are specified. Microsoft 365 Copilot is a separate entitlement. It is not included because a Microsoft 365 plan exists, and it does not receive universal access to organizational data.
10
Tenant Administration & Handover
Handover is the configuration record, the access review, and the responsibilities the customer’s administrators accept. No tenant identifier, credential, or live alert is published here.
Microsoft 365 Workloads and Their Business Roles
Nine workload families are in the original scope. Each one has a purpose, a dependency on identity and licensing, and a boundary. Microsoft 365 Copilot is listed after them because it is a separate entitlement, not a tenth workload that arrives with every plan.
01
Exchange Online
Business email, mailbox administration, and calendars for the accepted domains in scope. Shared mailboxes and mail flow are included only when the design names them. SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are considered for the sending domain and are published by the DNS owner.
02
Microsoft Teams
Collaboration, channels, and meetings for licensed users. Some calling and meeting features depend on a separate entitlement. This page does not treat every Teams feature as part of a base plan.
03
OneDrive
User-oriented file storage and sharing for the people in scope. Storage limits and sharing controls follow the assigned license and the tenant policy.
04
SharePoint
Team sites, shared content, and the permissions around them. A Teams channel’s files are SharePoint content. Site design is limited to what the scope names.
05
Microsoft Entra ID
The directory for users, groups, authentication, and the administrative roles the customer assigns. Advanced identity governance and Conditional Access depend on the entitlements in the tenant.
06
Microsoft Intune
Enrollment, configuration, and compliance for the devices the endpoint design lists, where Intune is licensed. Corporate and personally owned devices are planned separately.
07
Microsoft Defender
The Defender products the licenses actually include, which can cover endpoint, email, or identity protection as separate entitlements. “Microsoft Defender” on this page is not one uniformly included service, and it is not a managed monitoring desk.
08
Microsoft Purview
Information protection, sensitivity labels, retention, Data Loss Prevention, and eDiscovery only where those features are entitled. They govern data in the service. They are not an independent backup, and they are not a legal-compliance certificate.
09
Microsoft Power Platform
Power Apps, Power Automate, and the connectors a named process needs, in an environment the customer governs. Building a custom application is not automatically part of tenant configuration.
Separately entitled
Microsoft 365 Copilot
Copilot is AI assistance only where the tenant, the user, the supported application, regional availability, and the commercial entitlement all qualify. It is not included in every Microsoft 365 plan. Effective access follows the user’s existing permissions and the policies on the tenant. It is not universal access to organizational data.
Your Organization Owns and Controls Its Microsoft 365 Tenant
The customer keeps ownership, purchasing, DNS authority, and the decision to accept a change. Novatelia’s role is the technical work the agreement names. Access is approved for that work and reviewed at handover. There is no tenant takeover and no reseller claim.

From Business Domain to Microsoft 365 Readiness
Domain ownership stays with the organization. Verification and mail routing are DNS changes made by the party who controls the zone. Existing mail can coexist until the authorized change. This page does not edit DNS, and it does not offer a cutover with no impact.
01
Confirm customer tenant and subscription prerequisites
The work starts in a tenant the customer owns, with subscriptions the customer buys from a source they choose. This page does not create a tenant in Novatelia’s name and does not price a subscription.
02
Identify domain ownership and authoritative DNS
The domain registration and the DNS host are identified. Only that authoritative zone can prove control of the domain to Microsoft.
03
Prepare and perform authorized domain verification
Microsoft provides a verification value. The party authorized on the DNS zone publishes it. Novatelia prepares the value and checks the result when that task is in scope.
04
Plan required DNS records
MX and related mail records are planned when Exchange Online should receive mail. SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are planned against the services that actually send. No sample on this page is a customer zone, and the records are not changed from the website.
05
Configure approved services and identities
Users, groups, and the workloads in scope are configured after the domain state and the licenses are known. Existing mail can remain with the current provider until the cutover the customer authorizes.
06
Validate service readiness
Readiness is a check against the plan: verification state, a sample mailbox, and the routing the customer approved. A zero-impact cutover is not offered. DNS propagation and a change window are part of the plan because mail can be interrupted.
Business Email Configuration with Exchange Online
Exchange Online covers the mailboxes, accepted domains, user and shared mailbox requirements, mail flow, and the calendars the scope includes. Coexistence with the current mail system is a planned window, not an open-ended state.
SPF lists the infrastructure allowed to send. DKIM signs mail for the domain. DMARC states what receivers should do when alignment fails. The DNS owner publishes the values that match the real sending services. No record on this page is a production zone, and successful authentication is not a guarantee that every message will be delivered. Mail routing and domain ownership remain separate responsibilities.
Plan a Controlled Migration to Microsoft 365
A migration starts with the source environment, the target licenses, the identity map, and a cutover the customer authorizes. Sources can include existing mail hosting, supported IMAP, Google Workspace, another Microsoft environment, or an approved file repository. Each source is checked. Throughput and duration are not estimated here.
01
Source environment assessment
The source might be existing mail hosting, a supported IMAP system, Google Workspace, another Microsoft environment, or an approved file repository. Support for mail, contacts, calendars, shared mailboxes, and files is confirmed for that source.
02
Mailbox and file inventory
The accounts and the files in scope are listed. Anything not on that list is excluded. The inventory is not a live export published on this page.
03
Target licensing and prerequisites
Target mailboxes and sites require licenses the customer has chosen. The license is not included in the migration service, and no subscription price is published.
04
Identity and permission mapping
Users, groups, and the permissions that can be represented in the target are mapped. SharePoint permissions and document metadata do not all arrive unchanged from every source.
05
Migration tool and compatibility review
The tool is accepted only for the data types that source and target both support. Identical fidelity for every source is not assumed.
06
Pilot and validation where scoped
A pilot runs when the agreement includes one. It checks a sample. It does not certify the rest of the migration in advance.
07
Approved cutover plan
The customer authorizes the window, the MX or routing change, and the communications to users. Duration and throughput are not estimated on this page. Zero downtime is not offered.
08
Data verification and exception handling
Moved items are checked against the acceptance tests. Exceptions are written down. A claim of zero data loss is not made.
09
Administration handover
The customer’s administrators receive the migration summary, the exception register, and the access review for the work that was agreed.
Identity and Sign-In Architecture with Microsoft Entra ID
Entra ID holds users and groups. Authentication proves who is signing in, including multifactor authentication where it is required. Authorization is the separate decision of what that person may administer or open. Administrative roles are assigned to named people. Guest and external identities are added only when the design includes them. Least privilege means the role matches the task.
Conditional Access and advanced identity governance depend on the entitlements in the tenant. Federation with an existing directory is used only where that design applies. This page publishes no identity certification and has no sign-in form.
Manage Approved Corporate Devices with Microsoft Intune
Intune work covers the devices the customer lists: ownership, enrollment, configuration, apps, compliance where it is supported, and the record of what was done. Windows endpoints and relevant mobile platforms are planned separately for corporate and personally owned devices. Management permissions stay with the customer’s administrators.
01
Device ownership and eligibility
Each device is identified as corporate or personally owned before enrollment is discussed. Eligibility follows the licenses and the platforms the design names, commonly Windows and the mobile platforms Intune supports for that tenant.
02
Enrollment planning
Enrollment is planned for the devices the customer lists. A user installing a portal is not the same as a finished management design, and this page cannot enroll or wipe a device.
03
Configuration policy
Configuration profiles apply the settings the scope names to enrolled devices. A profile exists only after it is defined for that tenant.
04
App deployment requirements
Applications are deployed to the groups the design names, where the app and the license allow it. Software deployment is not assumed for every title.
05
Compliance policy where supported
Compliance rules evaluate the enrolled devices against the conditions the license and the platform support. A compliance result is not a certification of the organization.
06
Access integration where applicable
Device state can be used in access decisions only where Conditional Access or the equivalent control is licensed and configured. Intune enrollment alone does not enable that control.
07
Lifecycle changes
Replacement, reassignment, and operating-system changes are handled as lifecycle events for the enrolled device. They are documented for the customer’s administrators.
08
Offboarding and documentation
A device leaving the organization is retired according to the ownership model. Corporate and personal devices are not retired the same way. The record of what was enrolled is part of handover when Intune is in scope.
Security Capabilities Depend on the Licensed Defender Products
Endpoint protection, email protection, and identity protection are different Defender products. Each one requires its own subscription, its own policy scope, and someone to receive the alerts that product produces. Operational response stays with the customer’s team or a contract that names it. This page does not add that contract.
Nothing here is a guarantee of threat prevention, a universal extended-detection entitlement, a continuously staffed security operations desk, live monitoring, or an automatic security certification.
Information Protection and Governance with Microsoft Purview
Where the licenses include them, relevant Purview capabilities can cover data classification, sensitivity labels, Data Loss Prevention, retention, eDiscovery, and information lifecycle governance. Those features are confirmed against the tenant. They are governance inside the service, not an independent backup, and they are not assumed in every subscription. Configuring them is not a guarantee of legal compliance.
Connect Teams, Files and Collaboration with Defined Access
Teams is the place for chat, channels, and meetings. A standard channel’s files live in SharePoint. Chat files live in OneDrive. Groups and membership decide who can open them. External sharing follows the policy the customer sets. Meeting and calling features, including telephony, are confirmed against the assigned licenses. This page does not show a Microsoft interface.
Business Applications and Workflows Where the Scope Requires Them
Power Apps and Power Automate are considered when a business process is named. Connectors, environment separation, licensing, and approvals are part of that design. Custom application development is not included automatically in a Microsoft 365 tenant configuration, and this page does not run a production workflow.
Assess Microsoft 365 Copilot Before Deployment
Copilot is assessed before anyone describes it as available. The assessment covers eligible licenses, user entitlement, supported applications, tenant configuration, the data those users can already open, governance, and the approved scope. Copilot is not included automatically. It is not described as having universal access to organizational data. Access follows product behavior, user permissions, and the relevant policies. This page publishes no Copilot price, no availability claim for a region, and no sample Copilot output.
Is Copilot included automatically?
No. Copilot is discussed only when the customer’s license includes it.
Understand Retention, Recovery and Independent Backup
Microsoft 365 service resilience keeps the service available under Microsoft’s terms. Native recovery, Purview retention where it is entitled, and OneDrive or SharePoint version history can restore certain items inside the service. An independent backup is a separate copy. A restore test and the recovery the contract requires are decided with that method.
Service availability is not an independent backup the customer controls. A tenant is not assumed to hold a complete recoverable copy of all data for an unlimited time. Any extra Microsoft or third-party backup product has to be checked for edition, coverage, and commercial prerequisites before it is named.
Hand Over a Documented Tenant to the Customer’s Administrators
Support after handover covers the systems named in the agreement, on the hours that agreement states. Every engagement includes the records named in the approved scope. Credentials and tenant identifiers are not published. The artifacts below are possible deliverables, not a bundle included in every engagement.
Handover records, only where the approved scope includes them.

Understand Licensing and Service Boundaries
The customer buys licenses from a source of their choosing. Novatelia does not publish a Microsoft partner title on this page. No Microsoft 365 subscription prices are published. A service quotation depends on the actual tenant and the migration scope.
Is Novatelia a Microsoft partner?
A Microsoft partner title is not published. Work is performed in the customer’s tenant.
Do you publish a Microsoft 365 price?
No. Licenses and the migration scope are quoted after the tenant and the mailbox count are known.
This page does not present Novatelia as a Microsoft Solutions Partner, an authorized reseller, a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider, a certified partner, or an official migration partner. Customers are not required to purchase licenses through Novatelia. No partnership badge is shown.
Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace for Your Organization?
A serious comparison looks at business email, collaboration, the desktop applications people already use, identity management, device management, compliance features, migration complexity, and licensing dependencies. Microsoft 365 is not presented as universally superior. The full comparison lives in the article, not on this page. Prices are not part of either page.

Microsoft 365 Setup, Migration, Security & Administration — Questions and Answers
01
What is Microsoft 365?
Microsoft 365 is Microsoft’s cloud productivity platform. On this page the workload families are Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Purview, and Power Platform. Some license names still use Office 365. Those names are not treated as an identical set of entitlements.
02
What is a Microsoft 365 tenant?
A tenant is the organization’s Microsoft cloud directory and the boundary for its users and services. The Entra tenant identity is distinct from any one Microsoft 365 subscription entitlement assigned inside it.
03
Who owns the customer’s Microsoft 365 tenant?
The customer organization owns the tenant. Novatelia assists with approved configuration, migration, security, and handover inside that tenant and does not take ownership of it.
04
Can Novatelia set up Microsoft 365 for a company in Oman?
Novatelia supports Microsoft 365 configuration, migration, and administration for organizations in Oman, inside the customer’s own tenant. Licensing and the service scope are confirmed separately.
05
Is Novatelia an official Microsoft partner?
A Microsoft partner title is not published. Work is performed in the customer’s tenant.
06
Does Novatelia sell Microsoft 365 licenses?
The customer buys licenses from a source they choose. This page does not require that purchase to be made through Novatelia, and it does not publish a subscription price.
07
Why are Microsoft 365 subscription prices not published here?
No. Licenses and the migration scope are quoted after the tenant and the mailbox count are known. A public price would not match that scope, so none is listed.
08
What is required to set up a Microsoft 365 tenant?
A tenant the customer owns, subscriptions the customer selects, a domain the organization controls, a person who can publish DNS, and an agreed list of users and workloads. Novatelia does not create that tenant in its own name.
09
How is a company domain connected to Microsoft 365?
Microsoft provides a verification value. The party who controls the authoritative DNS zone publishes it. Mail routing records are added only when Exchange Online should receive mail, and they are planned with a change window.
10
What is Exchange Online?
Exchange Online is the Microsoft 365 mailbox and calendar service. It covers the accepted domains, user and shared mailboxes, and the mail flow the design names. Deliverability is not guaranteed by configuration alone.
11
Can an existing business mailbox be migrated to Exchange Online?
A mailbox can be migrated when the source, the tool, and the permissions support the mail in scope. Calendars, contacts, and shared mailboxes are included only when that source can provide them.
12
Can Google Workspace email be migrated to Microsoft 365?
Google Workspace can be a source when the migration method supports the mail, and any calendars or contacts the scope includes. The result is checked for that environment. It is not assumed for every Workspace account.
13
Can company files be migrated to SharePoint or OneDrive?
Files can move when the source repository and the tool support them. Permissions and document metadata do not all transfer with the same fidelity, so exceptions are recorded.
14
Can migration be completed without downtime?
This page does not offer a migration without downtime or a migration with zero data loss. The cutover is planned and authorized because a routing change can interrupt mail.
15
What is Microsoft Entra ID?
Microsoft Entra ID is the cloud directory for users, groups, and sign-in. It is the identity service for the tenant. It is not, by itself, every security product attached to Microsoft 365.
16
How is Entra ID different from Active Directory?
Active Directory Domain Services is the on-premises directory many organizations already run. Entra ID is the cloud directory for the tenant. They can be related through a supported synchronization or federation design. They are not the same directory, and this page does not assume that design is already in place.
17
What is multifactor authentication in Microsoft 365?
Multifactor authentication asks for a second proof at sign-in. It can be required for the users in scope. The methods available follow the tenant policy and the licenses. It is authentication, not the authorization that decides what a signed-in person may open.
18
What is Conditional Access?
Conditional Access is a policy that allows, limits, or blocks sign-in based on conditions the tenant defines, such as user, device, or location. It depends on an entitlement that includes it. It is not present in every Microsoft 365 plan.
19
Do all Microsoft 365 plans include Conditional Access?
No. Conditional Access and other advanced identity controls exist only where the assigned licenses include them. The tenant’s subscriptions have to be confirmed before those policies are designed.
20
What is Microsoft Intune?
Microsoft Intune is the endpoint management service for devices the organization enrolls, where the license includes it. It covers configuration, application deployment, and compliance evaluation for those devices.
21
Can Intune manage company-owned laptops?
Company-owned Windows laptops can be enrolled when Intune is licensed and the device is in the approved list. Enrollment applies the profiles that were defined. It does not enable every security control by itself.
22
Can Intune manage personally owned devices?
Personally owned devices can be considered only under a separate bring-your-own-device decision. The management boundary is narrower than for a corporate device, and this page does not enroll or wipe any device.
23
What is Microsoft Defender?
Microsoft Defender is a family of protection products. Endpoint, email, and identity protection are separate capabilities and are included only when the relevant license is assigned. The name does not mean every Defender product is present.
24
Is every Defender security product included automatically?
No. Each Defender product follows its own entitlement. This page does not describe a universal extended-detection entitlement, a continuously staffed security operations desk, or a guarantee that threats are prevented.
25
What is Microsoft Purview?
Microsoft Purview is the family of information protection and governance features that may include classification, sensitivity labels, Data Loss Prevention, retention, and eDiscovery where those features are licensed.
26
Does Microsoft 365 include DLP?
Data Loss Prevention is available only where the assigned licenses include it. It is not assumed for every subscription, and configuring it is not a certificate of legal compliance.
27
How do Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive work together?
Teams provides the conversation and the meeting. Files shared in a standard team channel are stored in the associated SharePoint site. Files shared in a chat are stored in the sender’s OneDrive. The relationship still depends on the licenses and the sharing policy.
28
Does every Microsoft 365 plan include Teams?
Teams availability and the meeting or calling features inside it vary by plan. Telephony in particular is not assumed in a base suite. The assigned licenses are confirmed before those features are described as available.
29
What is Power Platform?
Power Platform, for this page, means Power Apps and Power Automate for a process the customer specifies, with the connectors and the environment separation that process needs. Custom application development is a separate scope, not an automatic part of tenant setup.
30
Is Microsoft 365 Copilot included automatically?
No. Copilot is discussed only when the customer’s license includes it.
31
What must be reviewed before enabling Copilot?
The review covers eligible licenses, which users are entitled, which applications are supported, tenant configuration, the permissions those users already have, and the governance the customer wants. Copilot is not described as having access to all organizational data. Price and regional availability are not stated on this page.
32
Does Microsoft 365 automatically back up every file?
No. Service availability, retention, and version history are not an independent backup that the customer controls. A backup method is selected and documented when a copy outside the service is required.
33
What is the difference between Microsoft 365 retention and backup?
Retention and version history keep or recover items inside the service, where those features are entitled. An independent backup is a separate copy, tested with a restore. One does not replace the other on this page.
34
What is included in tenant administration handover?
Where the scope includes it, handover can cover the configuration record, domain summary, user and group inventory, migration exceptions, the administrative role matrix, the security settings that were configured, Intune scope, license dependencies, the backup decision, and a checklist. Not every engagement includes every item. Credentials are not published.
35
How can a company request a Microsoft 365 setup or migration assessment?
Open the RFQ draft. It saves a browser draft for the Microsoft 365 topic. It does not publish a subscription price, establish Microsoft partner status, or issue a quotation reference.
