Ex Cable Glands & Junction Boxes in Oman & GCC
Every field instrument in a hazardous area ends at a gland, a junction box and a cable run back to the control room. We supply these installation materials for new projects, brownfield modifications and maintenance work in Oman and across the GCC.
Cable glands
We quote Ex d and Ex e cable glands, including barrier glands where the installation requires them, for armoured and unarmoured cable. Glands come in brass, nickel-plated brass or stainless steel, with seals and shrouds to suit the environment, and are certified under ATEX or IECEx to IEC 60079-1 and IEC 60079-7, with performance to EN 62444. Earth tags, locknuts, thread adaptors and stopping plugs can be included.
Junction boxes, enclosures and cable
Increased-safety and flameproof junction boxes and enclosures are available in GRP or 316 stainless steel with IP66 ratings and terminal layouts built to your drawing. For the cable itself we source screened pair and triad instrument cable to BS EN 50288-7 or BS 5308, with armour, LSZH sheaths and flame-retardant performance to IEC 60332-3 as specified.
Getting gland sizes right
Gland selection depends on the cable outer diameter, the armour type, the inner bedding diameter and the thread on the enclosure entry. Send the cable schedule or datasheet with the enclosure details, and we will match each gland size and seal range so the installation team does not discover mismatches on site.

We source and supply products from brands commonly specified in GCC projects, including CMP Products, Hawke, R. STAHL and Eaton. Typical users are oil and gas, petrochemical and power projects, and the contractors working on plant modifications. Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between Ex d and Ex e cable glands?
- Ex d glands are used with flameproof enclosures, while Ex e glands are used with increased-safety enclosures. The gland type, and whether a barrier gland is needed, follows the enclosure protection concept and the installation standard.
- Can you build junction boxes to our terminal drawing?
- Yes. Send the terminal layout, the number and size of entries and the certification required, and we will quote a junction box assembled to that drawing.
- Do you supply instrument cable with the glands?
- Yes. Screened and armoured instrument cable can be quoted alongside the glands, so the cable diameter and gland size are checked together.
