Oxygen & Nitrogen Servicing

Oxygen and nitrogen servicing equipment lets technicians fill aircraft tyres, landing-gear struts, accumulators and oxygen systems from gas bottles at controlled pressure. Service carts carry the bottles and add regulators, gauges, hoses and often a booster (intensifier) that raises pressure and shuts off automatically when the aircraft reaches the set value [1][2]. Tronair notes nitrogen is used for tyres because it is mostly inert [3]. Novatelia sources selected servicing carts by RFQ for hangars in Oman and qualified GCC projects.
Applications
- Tyre and strut inflation with nitrogen [3].
- Accumulator and high-pressure nitrogen servicing up to 4,000 psi with a booster [1].
- Aircraft oxygen system replenishment with a dedicated oxygen cart [2].
Equipment types
- Nitrogen service carts with manifold, high- and low-pressure regulators and booster, e.g. Tronair 18-4208-0010 [1].
- Oxygen service carts with oxygen booster, filter and overpressure relief, e.g. Tronair 20-4525-0000 [2].
- Single and two-bottle transport carts and regulator kits [3].
How to select equipment
- Gas cylinder connector standard: Tronair warns its standard CGA connector fits North American cylinders only, so international customers must specify local fittings [3].
- Maximum aircraft service pressure and whether a booster is needed [1].
- Dedicated oxygen-clean equipment for oxygen systems; never share hoses between oxygen and nitrogen [2].
- Adapters for the aircraft types you service [1].
Customer types
- Airline line and base maintenance
- MRO hangars
- Business-aviation and helicopter operators
Good practice
- Follow the aircraft maintenance manual for gas type, pressure and temperature correction; oxygen servicing needs strict cleanliness and fire precautions.

Frequently asked technical questions
Why nitrogen instead of air for tyres?
Nitrogen is mostly inert, unlike oxygen which can react with rubber [3].
Will a Tronair cart fit GCC gas cylinders?
Not by default; the standard CGA connector fits North American cylinders, so local fittings must be specified at RFQ [3].
