Aircraft specialty tooling is the engine-, APU- and aircraft-specific tooling called up by part number in the maintenance manual: pullers, fixtures, test rigs, build stands and wash rigs. Because the manual names the tool, the source matters. Pratt & Whitney publishes accredited service tool suppliers for its PWC engines and lists Kell-Strom Tool Co. for thrust-producing engines and for the APS2300, APS3200 and APS5000 APUs [1]. Kell-Strom states it is licensed by Pratt & Whitney Canada to support the JT15D, PT6 and PW100 to PW900 engine lines, and makes products such as wash rigs and engine build stands [2].
