What is an AI Agent?

Definition

An agent combines a model call with tools the scope permits: read this system, write that record, or stop and ask. Anything not listed is out of scope.

How it works

A request arrives. The application chooses a tool from the allowed set, calls it with the customer’s credentials, and records what happened. If the tool fails or the request is outside the list, the workflow stops for a person.

The requests the agent may receive.
The tools it may call, each with an owner.
A stop rule and a log of the actions taken.

Use cases

A support queue wants a draft reply that a person still sends.
A form should create a case in a system the customer already runs.
A document question should be answered from a named library and then stop.

Can the agent operate without review?

Only for an action the written scope explicitly allows to run unattended. This site does not publish an unattended agent as a default, and it does not claim the output is correct.

Is this the AI infrastructure page?

No. AI infrastructure is compute, network, and hosting for demanding workloads. An agent workflow is a software scope, even if it later runs on that infrastructure.
