Communications
Transactional email is a message caused by that person’s action or by a service they already have, such as a receipt, a password reset, or a ticket update. Marketing email is a campaign sent to a list. Mixing them harms consent and authentication. Novatelia scopes transactional sending on the email API page. Staff mailboxes stay on business email.

Key points
- A receipt is not a newsletter.
- The sending system and the mailbox system are often different.
- SPF, DKIM, and DMARC still apply to both.
Definition
Transactional mail is expected because of an event. Marketing mail is requested as an ongoing subscription, and it needs a working way to stop. The words on the page do not change a campaign into a transaction.
How it works
The application sends the event message through the transactional provider, with its own authentication. Campaigns go through the marketing tool and its list. Both domains or subdomains are in the DNS design so one stream does not break the other.
Architecture
- Event sources: orders, accounts, tickets.
- A transactional sending path with authentication.
- A separate marketing list, with unsubscribe, if that program exists.
Use cases
- A portal must email a password reset.
- A shipment notice should not include a promotion.
- A newsletter already exists and must not be sent from the staff mailbox platform by accident.
Comparison
- Transactional
- Triggered by an event the recipient caused or a service they have.
- Marketing
- A campaign to a list, with consent and a way to stop.
Selection guidance
- Name the event before choosing the tool.
- Keep staff mail on the business-email solution.
- Add the sender to SPF, DKIM, and DMARC before the first production message.
Questions
Can a staff mailbox send application receipts?
It should not be the design. Application mail belongs on the transactional path so a person’s mailbox policy, quota, and password are not the sending system. Business email remains the staff suite.
Does this include a price per message?
No. The provider the customer contracts sets commercial terms. This site publishes no price and no delivery percentage.

This page defines a term so a project can be scoped. It is not a certification, a test result, or a price. Partnerships are stated only on the partners page. The published address and telephone are the company contact, not a service-level commitment.
Describe the requirement
An RFQ saves a browser draft. It does not publish a price or issue a quotation reference.
